Welcome
This forum has been created to discuss about LIBERIOT, its potential, possibilities and also to post your questions regarding this solution.

RE: Welcome
One unclear thing is whether there is going to be forever a global cloud available at at which conditions (business model?). On the liberiot site, there is a link to inubo, but that site is only in spanish, and it doesn't seem to speak about liberiot (yet?)

Technically, I also wonder how to cope with various versions of SW/HW with this 12-byte identifier. IOW, what happens when there are some devices running an older SW version and others runing a newer version.

Let's say that the whole information about LIBERIOT is going to be addressed from liberiot.org. We at panStamp are either not wanting to invest all our efforts in promoting liberiot since panStamp has its own commercial objectives placed in selling hardware. LIBERIOT needs to find a place in the community. We of course need to promote and explain everything related to liberiot since others won't do it for us but we need a community to be built around this solution as a way to make liberiot something durable and growable (and hence, global).

We have been addressing these same issues with SWAP without problems. The last 4 bytes of each 12-byte address contains information about the SW being running by the device. New SW providing different I/O's should then use a different 4-byte product code. In other words, 8 bytes of each product UID is dependent of the hardware whilst the last 4 bytes of the UID are dependent on the software.

We really expect to push this ahead once we start selling the basic gateways, or at least some of the pieces necessary to build the gateways around.

RE: Welcome
Anyone from Liberiot present in the forum ? Otherwise, it could be difficult for them to "find a place in the community" ! I simplywish they don't follow the trace of domy on kickstarter :-(

RE: Welcome
The release campaign will finally arrive once the LIBERIOT wifi gateway board becomes available. In the meantime, we are simply releasing some prototype gateways for punctual projects. In any case, LIBERIOT will never be showcased on KickStarter Big Grin

We count on you @tochinet to help us make this community grow!
